Legendary funk bassist Craig Calhoun has had an illustrious career over several decades - working from San Fran to Berlin to Sydney, the man they call CC has seen and done it all in the music world, performing music for Jivin' Dancin' and Funkin' about - so be prepared for a 5-Piece Band Dance Party. Born in the US, and growing up in West Germany, Craig Calhoun was turned on to the music of Jimi Hendrix, and commenced a five hour a day bass habit.
At the age of 19 his band “ZZAZZO” was signed to a 6 figure production deal providing them their own studio with engineers to create and record original music as a day job, recording an album at San Francisco’s prestigious Wally Heider Studio with several featured artists including Don Grusin, Pete Christlieb (Sax-Steely Dan) Invited to play Bass for Mowtown's 'Supremes', Craig had his big break touring Europe, subsequently touring with European Jazz-Funk & World Music Artist Chris Hinze, who received an invitation by iconic Australian Jazz artist Don Burrows to headline the Sydney, Melbourne and Perth music festivals.
The sold out performance at the Sydney Opera House were televised live on ABC TV Craig remained in Australia and has performed/recorded with some of the biggest names in Australian Music- Jimmy Barnes, Marcia Hines, John Farnham, Eurogliders, Renee Geyer, Marina Prior, James Blundell, Jack Jones
